Changes in scenery marked the year for the library or resource cen- ter. The most notable change was green in color and in the form of plants. Over thirty scheffeleras, ivies and other assorted plants filled the library. The students like them, says Mrs. Thorton, District Library Coordinator. lt seemed as though teachers also liked them. Hardly a desk could be found with- out a small plant. The plants also had an educational value, as the art classes drew sketches of them and they aided in the biology classes' study of botany. Perhaps students were becoming too relaxed. For some reason the couches and the chairs in the pit area were replaced by tables with not so comfortable chairs. Perhaps in an effort to restore the learning idea. Over- all, Mrs. Thorton, Mrs. Fiest along with their aid Mrs. Rose, did a good job of experimenting to find that perfect learning environment and to put that environment to work in ourlibrary.
