1 Jr.V. cheerleaders Janna Boze, Paula Market, and Tammy Beaudoin wait and express themselves in a cheer. The Varsity cheerleaders were allowed only two skits this year. Here they perform at the Cy-Fair pep rally. The Goldusters often performed their dance routine for the students. Here, the seniors do a jazz dance to the music Temptation Student involvement is shown in their facial expressions. The PoIecats in the background were a type of cheerleader for the junior class. Terry Lasyone, Wayne Wilson, and Robert Meeks, three Varsity football players, dressed for the times on 50's day. Student Life -

The twirlers continued their unending drive for perfection in a dance to the music of Boogie Blues, The students are what make a pep rally successful. Class competition was the most popular part ofthe hour. Pep Rallies Create Student Involvement Themes being a new dimen- sion in pep rallies, added to school involvement. Each pep rally had a theme which ranged from the 50's to socks. One special theme was Battle ofthe Sexes. In this pep rally, the boys competed against the girls for the Spirit Stick. After the pep rally, the girls were given Hush buttons. The object was for the boys to make the girls talk, thus taking their Hush button. The boy with the most buttons at the end of the day won a cake. The winner was Bob Harvey. The Battle of the Sexes went over so big the first time that it was repeated in a later pep rally, except this time it was I reversed: the boys were the Cheerleaders spend a lot of time and energykplanning ones who had to be quiet- The each pep rally. Despite her late night practices, Col- winner was Kay Kay Toon' lynne Edwards keeps that spirit up! Other themes included: overall day, crazy sock day, zaniest hat day, goofy glasses day, and 50's day. Students competed individually for prizes on each day New chants were also a big part of the pep rallies The most popular consisted of Hey We Are Bad We re Fired Up And Ready and last but not least PARTY' The football guys were always reminded of the spirit and support that was behind them through ribbons posters and all around great yelling competition The Varsity cheerleaders combine talent and humor in satiriz- ing the spring cheerleaders. There was always the guy who hung onto the oldest and most favorite style around - jeans and t- shirts. But most stu- dents were more keyed in on the latest styles and were eager to try again . . . this marked fashion. Gauchos and boots of last year were seen again this winter, but the dress and boot com- bination seemed much more popular among the fashion conscious students. Senior, Chris Lee, is a classic example of the sideburns, open l ee 1 S Pastel dresses were a must for any girls wardrobe. Here, Esther Juries is in style.
