Still green from college, Mr. Wesley Zirkel took on the challenge of the Jersey Village Yearbook Staff. The tasks seem endless, with lots of hardships. Some- how Mr. Zirkel pulled us all together producing a year- book worth remembering. Nlr. Zirkel plans to be at J.V. next year to take the staff on again. However, next year's challenge will be reduced because of the experi- ence which this year's staff has given him. The 1977- 78 Yearbook Staff now would like to thank him for his help and endurance. ...ali A few staff members stuck it out well into the summer trying to finish up the book. Here, Rhonda Spitzenburger, Darrell Schindler, and Denise Griswold go over the final pages Others who stayed were Leslie Smith and Julie Heyen. Organizations 1 El

Pam Nichols finally gets the go ahead on her pages. Smal I Package Staff The old saying Good things come in small packages could easily describe this year's yearbook staff. Opposed to last year's yearbook staff, this year's staff is considera- bly smaller. Last year there were approximately twenty members. However, this year's staff consisted of only thirteen. Members are: Editor, Denise Griswold, Adver- tisement, Leslie Smith, Classes and Senior Life, Pam Nichols, Faculty, Julie Heyen and Darrell Schindler, Organizations, Donna David and Virginia Hargrave, Sports, Rhonda Spitzenberger and Cynthia Tucker, and Photographers, Jimmy Griswold, Doug Lee, Jeff Maluski, and Penny Smith. The small size caused a lot of extra work for members such as, after school tasks, week-end bummers, and lots of fun. For instance, part of the staff participated in a trip to Austin. In Austin members took part in classes which gave them new techniques and ideas for producing a yearbook. Those who went were: Pam Nichols, Darrell Schindler and Leslie Smith. The Yearbook staff also attended a Ouill and Scroll cer- emony. Staff members who were initiated were: Donna David, Leslie Smith, Penny Smith, and Rhonda Spitzen- berger. Many awards were also given during the pro- gram. ln all the 1977-78 Yearbook staff produced an exciting and memorable yearbook. 164 Organizations Mr. Zirkel explains what's wrong with the copy - l -' 1 - Rhonda Spitzenberger disgusted with copy.
