Peregrine Staff Working Hurd The Journalism department works hard every day to produce the monthly student paper The Peregrine. The Peregrine and several staff members represents Jer- sey Village in UIL contests. lt is also sent to numerous schools from San Antonio to Nlin- nesota. The staff is divided into Sports, Feature, Newswriting, Ad sales, and Layout. This enables the student to work individually on his or her desired area of the paper. Each person does his share and puts it all together to produce The Peregrine. Between publication dates the staff par- ticipates in various work shops preparing for the highlight of the year - UIL. Stu- dents who participate in UIL compete against students from other schools. The areas range from feature writing to head- line counting. The Peregrine staff had a break this year between the month of March and May papers in order to prepare for the final issue of the year. Journalism I students under the editorship of Jeff Drushel produced the April issue. At the Journalism Ouill and Scroll induc- tion and awards ceremony, two staff mem- bers were inducted, they are Cindy Dobias, Lisa Smith. Two outstanding achievements were presented to the staff. Darrell Schin- dler receive the newspaper award and Den- ise Thorne was honored in the Feature writ- ing department. 150 Organization Darrell Schindler enjoys looking at old snapshots M-7 Bottom: Cindy Dobias.
