F.F.A. Trains Agriculfurisf The purpose and aim of Vocational Agricul- ture is to produce trained agriculturists for the future. The course curriculum involves animal science, agriculture mechanics, and plant and soil science. With each year building an advanced study of agriculture, the student may enroll for one to four years of Vocational Agriculture. Combined with classroom instruc- tion, students are required to produce a super- vised project ranging from rabbits to steers. The Future Farmers of America, a national organization of students enrolled in Vocational Agriculture, is coordinated into the course. Through the F.F.A., students learn coopera- tion, competition and leadership. The F.F.A. provides many contests and activities. Live- stock shows also play a major role in Voca- tional Agriculture. The major shows like Fort Worth and Houston and the local Jersey Vil- lage show, provide students with a chance to learn, exchange and compare ideas. Voca- tional Agriculture offers various ways for stu- dents to achieve success and reach their goal to become productive agriculturists.
