First UIL Sweepstakes In the past three years that Mr. Hick- fang has been directing the choir, this is the first ever the Jersey Village Choir made Sweepstakes at UIL Contest. Choir, an elective, requires a lot of hard work but offers many lasting awards. Students are placed in the Choir by try-out. Due to the Choir winning Sweepstakes at contest enabled them to travel to Six Flags in Arlington and San Antonio. Besides contest the Choirs performed with the Band at concerts and at the Homecoming football game at halftime. Last year at Solo and Ensemble the Choir brought seven medals back. This year they brought forty-eight medals from UIL Solo and Ensemble contest. Organizations 9

The Christian Student Union is made up of a fine group of young people who believe in God and wish to study his word as a group and spread it to the entire Jer- sey Village student body. At Christmas time, they put on a play centering on the manger scene from the bible for the English classes.
