Bottom row: loy Annette Jackson. First Year af J.V. Jersey Village opened its doors to Cosmetology for the first time. In past years students had to travel to Cy-Fair to attend the course. Classes are three hours long. This course is designed to develop skills and proper work habits in the field of Cosmetology. After successfully completing the course students are prepared to take the State Board of Cosmetology Examination which qualifies graduates to meet the standards set up by the Depart- ment of Licenses. Academic Bowl Through competitive tryouts stu- dents may become a member of the Academic Bowl team. Candidates par- ticipate in verbal and written tests designed to indicate their knowledge of a large range of subiects. Topics which the candidates were tested were: math, science, literature, his- tory, geography, current events, and simple trivia. Participants include Wil- liam Brown, Clay Vernon, Brenda Reils, John Carey, and Donald Whit- taker. Aerospace cadets were involved in several events during the year. During the year five cadets of the composite Squadron, completed their first flying experience. The cadets took their first flying experience at Experimental Air- craft Association breakfast flying at the Weison Airport. Civil Air Patrol cadet orientation is designed to expose the cadets to specific types of flying experiences. Cadets which received their first flight experience were: Daniel Varble, Richard Clem- mey, Brenda Lebelzinski, Lori Lebel- zinski, and Robert Baron. Talented Musicians Create Joint Effort There is a group of 135 members with the capability of taking notes off a sheet of paper and in a joint effort cre- ate an instrumental, musical fantasy. The 1977-78 Falcon Band has put a lot of hard work and time into preparing themselves for marching per- formances, contests, and public concerts.
