In Appreciation Mrs. Ruth Weiler Mrs. Weiler has ended her term of dedicated service to our school after thirty years. As well as being a teacher of home economics, she was one of the first in the state to introduce a family life course into the high school curriculum. For several years she took her place as adviser of the freshman class and served many terms with the local Future Homemakers of America chapter, accompanying participants on their annual trip to the state conference. After graduating from Montgomery High School with honors, Mrs. Weiler attended The Pennsylvania State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree. She began her teaching career at Philipsburg and served that school district for five years. In the past Mrs. Weiler has conducted sewing and Red Cross nutrition classes for adults. She enjoys reading, sewing, and traveling, but she says her greatest satisfaction comes when she sees her former students become well adjusted members of society. We were indeed fortunate to have had this accom- plished teacher on the staff at Jersey Shore and join with the faculty in wishing her a most rewarding retirement.
