WRESTLING Coach Dan llinlile issued the call for matmen this year. Although, they had the toughest sehed- ule they ever had, they managed to compile ll reeord of 2 wins and 9 losses. TRACK For the third consecutive year, Coach George Teufel produced an outstanding track team. With point gctters like Ralph Lehman, Fred Dyrofl: and George Durrwachter, the cindermen had little trouble overcoming Lock Haven, Wellsboro, Dan- ville, and Sunbury. The live boys who qualified for state finals this year are Mick Herritt, Pat Connolly, Ralph Lehman, Glenn Nelson, and George Durrwachter. Herritt placed first in dis- trict high jump. Our Title Contenders . . . BASKETBALL Taking the reins of basketball as coach for the first time, Mr. Laughlin Jennings continued to maintain the high standard of basketball for which jersey Shore is known throughout this section of the state. Playing inspired ball throughout the season, the Orange and Black five were runners up to league leading Benovo. With a veteran four consisting of Gilbert Blew, Mick Herritt, Danny White, and Dave Meckley, the cagers easily overcame Bald Eagle, Montoursville, South Williamsport, St. Mary's and St. loe's in non- league games. Against Lock I-laven, outstanding center, Gil- bert Blew, set an all-time league foul shooting record. Also, Gib was voted to the Central League All Star team and received more votes than any other player in the league. Gib Blew and Mick Herritt, who played their last game,will be sorely missed when the call for candidates goes out next seasong but veterans like White and Meckley, along with Koons and Aurand plus a lively group of other up-and-comers will be certain to carry on the basketball tradition of Iersey Shore in a worthy manner.
