JUNIOR YEAR Aprll 31 1945 Dear Mother Here another year IS almost past and I m fmally an upper classman The class has really had a busy year Our football players were very good and were a backbone for the team Flve of our boys play ed on the mam strung We put on our class dance at the end of September and lt was reported to be the best of the year At the beg1nn1ng of the basketball season we started selllng hot dogs and pop at the games to raxse money for our Jun1or Prom Agaln our sportsmen made a good show1ng 1n basketball wxth J W Parls and Fred Carl ton playlng on the mam team So whlle they helped w1n the games the rest of us brought the money ln Next came boxmg and Duane Sllcock and K1y0Sh1 Alzawa won thelr golden gloves Fmally Frlday the 13th rolled around Ah' what a date to plck for a Junlor Prom' It was a very fancy affalr wxth engraved ln vltatlons and ready made programs and multl colored streamers carrylng out the Pan Am er1can theme Erme Reed furmshed Latm Rythems and as usual It was the best J umor Prom ever had Here comes the teach to see what s keep Ing me qulet so long so Ill have to dash off Yours truly Llzabeth Brown P S Nuther new n1ck name SENIOR YEAR Aprxl 15 1946 My Dearest Mother After a very busy year as a Semor we have almost reached our goal Graduatlon In November we practlcally captured the Blg Seven Champlonshlp agam but because of snow and a very muddy fleld we lost the de clsxon by one pomt Our Senlor Ball as of course anyone would reallze was the best ever had Candy was the theme and Arlen Bastum furmshed smooth muslc At mtermlssxon Jean Bell and Fred Carlton were crowned Queen and Klng of the ball In January, Semor p1ctures were taken and most of us hoped that p1ctures dont al ways tell the truth I have ordered my announcements tak mg for granted that I shall need them There w11l be enough to glve to all those who have shown any lnterest 1n me and my great ca reer 1n hlgh school We had an exceedmgly fme basketball team and placed second 1n the D1str1ct Tourn ament whlch ent1t1ed us to attend the State Tournament ln Pocatello That tournament we shall not dlscuss The Jumors and Qemors were very busy rn March puttlng on a dance for the Sophomores and Freshmen as a reward for thelr selllng the most Bonds There was a floor show and even new records to dance to Just the other day Mr Taylor our advlsor now smce Mr Berry left had us measured for caps and gowns My' but I have grown slnce that f1rst day I entered dear old Jerome Hlgh My professors mform me that at the end of thls academlc term I should have acqulred suff1c1ent knowledge to venture lnto the spa clous world to conquer any obstacles that mlght confront me Knowxng th1s glves me a feelmg of self esteem mall After all you know my graduatlng re qulres a lot of fmanclal asslstance Your most affectlonate daughter Ellzabeth Harr1et Jones l MR PAUL TAYLOR Adzzsar - , , . , . .
