EnTering as Green Frosh They spenT Their TirsT year mosTly in geTTing ac- quainTed wiTh The sTudenTs and Teachers. and learning The locaTion of The rooms. as well as Their uses. Finally, arriving aT The conclusion ThaT aTTer all The Teachers were human and ThaT all lessons needed was a liTTle biT of sTudy. This class spenT The remainder of The year in obscuriTy. A deluge oT Sophomores reTurned To school The Tollowing year To make Trouble for The newly enTering sTudenTs, Lowly Freshmen, as They were called. However, during Their Senior year They have learned ThaT a duTy of The Senior class is To help ouT The poor Freshmen. IT was also during The Sophomore year ThaT our class losT an ouTsTanding member. WesTon ArThur Vance, whose deaTh was on March I7 of ThaT year. The mosT successful prom of recenT years was given during The Junior year. The class noT only made expenses buT cleared quiTe a sum To add To The class Treasury. A ATTer becoming high and mighTy Seniors Their achievemenTs were more varied. Working indusTriously on everyThing. The class oT 'S9 noT only re-esTablished The cusTom of school dances, Junior-Senior BanqueT, buT They published an annual, The TirsT To be published in This school since I93I. Through The co-operaTion oT The people oT The communiTy and The sTudenTs, The Senior class sTaged a campaign Tor The sale oT magazines on a commission basis and from The proceeds purchased Tor The High School an elecTric scoreboard. on which To mark Jerome and her aThleTic TeaTs. This was Their parTing giTT To The school. Thus, alThough The class of l939 are moving inTo wider spheres, some OT Their ThoughTs. endeavors, and aspiraTions will always remain wiTh Jerome High School.
