s N --- JANUARY 8 Members of the newly formed Art Club and other interested students toured the Art Museum. 13 The snows came-no school! 15-17 Long hours spent studying, lunch at McDonalds', minds going blank, moments of tension, and sighs of relief were all part of exam days. FEBRUARY 10 Doug Maxwell was mayor of St. Louis for a day as the Explorers took over the city government. 20 Third period band concertg Brentwood completed the exchange. 26 FTA attended a program to observe teaching techniques at the Central Institute for the Deaf. MARCH 10 Juniors spent all morning in the cafeteria taking the National Merit Scholarship Test. 13 The class of '65 dressed up to receive their rings. 19-20 Little Mary Sunshine, presented by a double cast, was a hu- morous satire on well-known composers. APRIL 16-24 Intensive research and hard work were evident at the St. Louis Science Fair. 29 Before the old year was finished, sophomores and jun- iors looked toward the coming year by electing cheer- . leaders. L 1 MAY 22 The carnival provided an interlude from routine weekends. 29 On annual picnic, seniors celebrated completion of four years of hard work. JUNE 5 THEEND! 5

Our Own Rosetta Stonejir J64 SEPTEMBER The forty-ninth school year was launched with new ideas and new opportunities. FHA members arose early this morning to attend the Eureka Regional Meeting. OCTOBER Girl hockey enthusiasts attended exhibition game at Washington U. Argentine women edged the Swedish women, one to nothing. 15 Vendors sold 311 copies of the first issue of the Growl. 16 At 7:30 a.m., sleepy-eyed seniors converged on the cafeteria to take the Ohio Psychological Exam. NOVEMBER New honor roll system went into effect as first quarter report cards were issued. College night participants from Fairview, Hazelwood, Riverview, and Jennings, got a glimpse of campus life from the representatives of colleges and universities all over the country. Students donned their Sunday best for the Student Council-spon- sored dress-up day. 28 Thanksgiving Day-the day to be thankful for the blessings that are ours to claim and keep. DECEMBER 5 With hopes of getting their rings earlier than previous classes, juniors ordered and made the first payment. Combined efiforts of the band and chorus in the annual Christmas concert filled the auditorium with joys of the season. Maids and escorts for the Basket Ball were announced at an assembly marking beginning of the holidays. 4

Maz'er, the cast did an outstand- ing job in Vest Pocket Varieties Hats off to the cast! 6
