Officers, Top to Bottom- E. Chappell, K. Lohr, R. Orlandi, M. Griffith. Klum' VVe, the seniors of LBJ., look back at our former years in school, years more like a play with four acts representing our four years in high school. The actors and actresses are the graduating class of 1960 and the setting is J.B.j. High School. Act 1. As the curtain begins to ascend we see the class officers of the ninth grade -D i a n e Cowarty, William Walker, Marie McGuire, and Joe Hoffman-lead ing our somewhat frightened classmates into what appears to be a huge mystical building, the high school building. This year saw our class begin to make its mark in the sports field with boys participating in football, basketball, and track. Also the girls made their contribution by add- ing pep and school spirit to the cheering squad. We also took part in the finer arts with Iunior Band members moving up to the Senior Band. Act II. This year we are really becom- ing active in school affairs, with our class beginning to make a name for itself. We again choose able leaders, Eugene Chappell, Patty Evans, josephine Trella, and Rick Orlandi. The annual football dance was our big money making project. We also sponsored. a skating party at Latrobe Skating Rink. During this act we hear chorus music, why itis the voices of our new chorus members. This year we picked our courses according to what we wanted our future to hold for us. Who knows? We may have future doctors, lawyers, dentists, nurses, teachers, store keepers, farmers, house- wives, and perhaps even a future president in our class. Act III. We may now consider ourselves upperclassmen because we have only our Jun- ior and Senior years to finish before we gradu- ate. This year will hold many happy memories of the activities in which we participated. The prom, 'gOriental Cardensf was the classis most beautiful project and happy memory. Our selling ability was tested when the class sold magazines. We also showed our writing and speaking ability with six of our class- mates entering the Voice of Democracyi' contest. On the football field we see leading our band four new majorettes from our class, they certainly can march and twirl. This year our crusading oflicers were Maxine Griffith, Eugene Chappell, Helen Stern, and Kathy Lohr. Our acting ability was demonstrated when we presented the junior class play, Our Hearts Were Young and Gay. Act IV. The last exciting act which will be filled with our happiest and our saddest memories now begins. There is confusion, excitement, and happiness with the receiving of rings, pictures, and name cards. Our beauty and talent contestant in the Maple Queen Con- test was Lana Reinholtz. Again this year we had a successful class play,,Time Out for Gin- ger. With the classis upmost goal of becoming the best class to graduate, we elected Maxine Griffith, Eugene Chappell, Rick Orlandi, and Kathy Lohr to head us in reaching this goal. As the curtain begins to descend our class takes its last bow before going out to begin a bright future. The members of the cast have played many roles in this play, scholar, sports, hero, chorus member, class leader, band member-fulfilling all the roles to the best of their ability. IG
