in promoting every school activit . Class Histor lt seems only yesterday that we, the class of 59 began our Freshman year at J. B. J. If we try hard enough we can look back and see ourselves as we were then. First, we see our- selves ata class meeting, where we elected Stan- ley Mincek as President, Aloysius Stedina as Vice- President, Madeline Palazzi as Secretary, and Robert Mahl as Treasurer. Next we are at the football and basketball games where we see some of our star players as they were just enter- ing the field of sports. Here, we also see some of the girls as cheerleaders. During our Fresh- man year, our majorettes were also chosen. Finally, as we look back to our first year in high school, we see ourselves at our class party that our class advisors, Miss Davis, Mrs. Lundquest, Mr. O'Connor and Mr. Chervenak helped make a success. The party is what we had been look- ing forward to, and it was a perfect way to end the year. As we look back once again, our picture is getting clearer, we now see ourselves as Sopho- mores. Our class advisors, Mrs. Haberlen, Mr. Broderick, Mr. Hackett and Mr. Kerekes and our class officers are Edgar Robertson, Madeline Pa- lazzi, Bernard Panek and Alex Sierocky began their job of leading us through out second very successful year. lt was as Sophomores that we chose our course to follow through high school and our future years. Most of the class showed their musical ability by entering the Senior band or chorus. Several of the boys received letters for their athletic ability in football, basketball and wrestling. This was also the first year we could have money making activities. Our first big project was the football dance where a king and queen were chosen to reign over the 1956 football season. Other projects were two con- cessions at the football games, dances and a skating party. Yes, at the end of our Sophomore year we had completed our second very success- ful year at J. B. J. and were looking forward to two more. Our picture is even more clear now, as we see our Junior year about to start. This was when Darla Borelle as President, Edgar Robert- son as Vice-President, Anita Sheftic as Secretary and Madeline Palazzi as Treasurer worked with our class advisors to make this one of our most active years. Our class advisors were Mrs. Hab- erlen, Miss Wilhelm, Mr. Kerekes and Mr. Hac- kett. Most of the class took part at the skating party we sponsored at Latrobe and also at the concessions and dances we had. All the class helped sell magazines, pens and candy. The most exciting of our activities that year was the Junior-Senior Prom. Everyone enjoyed making the decorations for our Evening in Paris. As we danced that evening, it wasn't hard at all to imagine that we were right in the heart of Paris. The prom marked the end of our Junior activi- ties. Our picture is very clear now, for we are seniors. This is the year we had been waiting for. We elected Darla Borelle as President, Stan- ley Mincek as Vice President, Anita Sheftic as Secretary and Joyce Gindlesperger as Treasurer. Our class advisors were Mrs. Haupt, Mr. Hackett, and Mr. Kerekes. Our class had two concessions, they were after the Forbes and Conemaugh Twp. games. We sold ball point pens, pen desk sets, letter holders and Christmas candy. Everyone worked hard to make our Senior Play a success. lt was called A Full House, and it held parts for 14 of our 600 students. Mrs. Haupt directed the play and it was enjoyed by all. Our class was represented at both District Band and Dis- trict Chorus. Although we did not have a Fall Festival Queen, we were represented at the Maple Queen Contest at Cochran Junior High School by Anita Sheftic. Other important events of our Senior year were the receiving of our graduation rings and the exchanging of name cards and senior pictures. Then, in no time at all, we were sending our graduation announce- ments, going to our Senior banquet and attend- ing the prom. All of us will remember Class Day, Baccalaureate and Commencement, for they were our final activities at J. B. J. Yes, we, the Class of 59 are proud of our success at J. B. J. and we hope that our future years will be just as successful.
