To some, gradu- ation from high school is just a stepping stone to higher education. For many it will be the completion of your school days, but not the completion of your learning. Whether you are aware of it or not, you have learned something new every day. As a small child, you learned many things from your parents-those two wonderful peo- ple who knew the answers to all your questions. As you grew old- er and entered school, your scope of learning was broadened by your association with teachers and friends. Now, as you leave high school, do not consider yourself fin- ished with learning. Strive always to learn, because the more knowl- edge we obtain, the better we are able to understand and cope with our problems, thus making the world a happier place in which to live. official welcome In the bible story of the talents, the unfaithful servant buried his talent in the ground, it was of no use there, it did no good there. Edu- cation is to help make the student aware of what he is, what talents he has, and the possibilities for put- ting those talents to use. The high school graduatewho does not put to use, and to good uses, that which the Lord has given him, is an un- faithful servant of himself, his com- munity and his country, no matter how few or how many his talents may be. The challenge of today's world to the graduate is to be both a faithful servant and a servant of good in the use of whatever he has learned.
