Clds - is or In the month of September, four years ago, we, the Senior Class of '53, entered J.B.J. as green freshmen. X1nQgA,StlggI We began to build our class spirit by participating STK in l . the many sided high school curriculum Since you I I can't build without leaders, we elected Christ1ne an ornell as president of our class. To aid her were - AJ Dave Horner, Leo DeLuca, and George Phillips The ranks of the cheer leaders were increased and a record eight magorettes were ' chosen from our class We soon settled xv! down to the ordinary l fe school work, games, and parties And then, the first thing we knew our first year of high school was over, and we looked forward to becoming sophomores Returning to school as sophomores, we had to choose our own subjects for the first time Some of us decided the life of a Others took up the academic courses and still others joined the 'Ag boys Again we elected officers for the year This tlme, Leo DeLuca moved up to the presidency with Dale Stanton, Marge Tulenko, and Bob Schmucker to aid him Sophomore names . A began to appear on the football, basketball, and wrest ling lineups This second year of high school simply flew by 6 5 Our junior year started out with us making big plans for financial and social coups W A first elected Bob Schmucker as a very capable class president His helpers were Dale Stanton, Marge Tulenko, and Violet Baraniak F5 1 'T 5 xf . CLASS HISTORY We had the concession stand at one of the football games and held an after-the-game dance which began to build up our treasury. All year we had made plans for a Spring Carnival, which we held on March 21. It was a complete success Then came the play our first big pro duction! We chose a mystery melodrama, 'The Eyes of Tlaloc, complete with secret panel and hldden treasure! In the spring, members of the chorus and band attended the all county events To end the year right, we held a prom for 4- the departing Senior Class The theme was nBon Voyage with the gym decorated as an underwater world And now, our senior year is almost over was a busy year for all of us For the second year, we elected Bob Schmucker class president The other officers included Dave Williams, Marge Tulenko, and Dave Horner The first big event was the senior play, held early in December We chose h El f Ronnie Pyle and 1 Gail Racey playing the leading parts en came M the Glee Club Concert at Christ f mas For Christ mas, many Senlors were found to be giving out their Senior pictures as Christmas presents Class rings began to gleam on our fingers We made a big profit selling Christmas cards which increased our treasury Our candidate for the Maple Queen crown was Daunice Plummer Name cards, gradua tion announcements, the senior banquet, the prom and finally our GRADUATION CU kept us so busy until the very moment our diplomas were handed out I Y ll -- ' L 0 , ll o Oo 0 .
