XVhen we mean to build, we first survey the plot, then draw the modelf' The 1953 Rex Collium is finally completed and members of the Literary Staff and Business Staff had no small part in it. It was indeed a gargantuan task to plan a yearbook of this type, for it involved deciding on a color scheme, plan- ning the layout, typing, composing write-ups, taking photographs, reading copy, and soliciting advertisements ad infinitum. Organizations and individuals alike cooper- ated wonderfully to make it possible to meet the deadlines-first to the engraver, then to the printer. Member-, of the Literary Staff worked steadily from the sketchy. indefinite beginning until the final dummy and copy were mailed to the printer. XVhile the Literary Staff was thus slaving away, the members of the Business Staff tramped the streets of the local town and neigh- boring towns soliciting the advertisements which play so vital a part in financing our annual. To all these who made the production of this annual possible we wish to extend a heartfelt thanks. VVe express our sincere appreciation to Miss Marv Ellen Sprowls, Mrs. Dorene Lape and Mr. Franklin La Vigne, advisors, the members ot both staits, the Zimmerman Engraving Com- pany.
