Qualifications: An awareness of an interest in the world, both past and present, and being in grade 10 or above makes a student eligible for membership in Lambda Chi. Dues are 51.50 per semester. Some members who cannot actively participate due to other extra curricular activi- ties during one semester pay only for the semester of their participation. Meetings: Usually on the first and fourth Tuesdays of each month after school, oc- casionally during an evening for a dinner or party or on Saturdays for a field trip. Lambda Chi has visited such places as Woolaroc in Bartlesville, Will Rogers' Memorial and Davis Gun Museum in Claremore, World Art Muse- um, Philbrook Art Center, and Gilcrease Muse- um. Accomplishments: The Freedom Tree in the Oval was planted in 1973 in honor of the re- turned POW Captain Gayland Kramer. The tree symbolizes pride, courage, freedom, hope, and faith. West of the breezeway is a beautiful redbud tree donated by Lambda Chi in 1974. It is the hope of the club to help beautify the school's campus by planting a tree each spring.
