Top Spot of Junior High The eighth grade, as always, is in a transition- al period. They are still full-fledged members of the Junior High, yet they have concrete dreams of being Senior High students. Although they can only dream that they are part of the Senior High, the eighth graders are really quite content with their top of the heapu Junior High stance. The eighth graders are quite diligent with their studies. They take the required courses of English, Math, Social Studies, Science, Reading, and Gym plus the elective courses of Home Eco- nomics, Industrial arts, Choristers, Music, or Band. But the eighth grade students also have the option of taking Algebra I or I.P.S. if they have shown promise in either Math or Science. The Junior High has an almost limitless num- ber of extracurricular activities, just as the Sen- ior High does. The eighth graders complete their days with hockey, football, basketball, baseball, and lacrosse. They also have their own student council and cheerleaders.
