The science department broadened students' horizons and helped them un- derstand the world around them. Sci- entific knowledge was important for a student to gain, if he was bound for the world of tomorrow. Future chemists, physicists, and inventors had to start somewhere, and that was by beginning with the basics. Basics such as biology, chemistry, human physiology, and earth science helped to fulfill students' science needs. Dr. Neil Mullis joined the Jenkins science staff, and helped stu- dents comprehend the complex world in which they lived. OUR WORLD UNKNOWN 30 SCIENCE Compliments of Punch Judy Flair
