MUNCH MANIA The school cafeteria at HVJ was es- sential to the well-being of the student body last year, offering three different well-balanced lunches for the mighty Warriors. The new self-serve salad bar was a big hit throughout the year. Special meals were prepared for holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. The lunchroom operated effectively under the management of Mrs. Kaigler and her assistant Ms. Dickerson. J CAFETERIA 27

KEEP ON CLEANING Mr. Bynes completed his second year as HVJ’s head custodian last year. His main duties were keeping the grounds and school clean and making sure that the classrooms were in satisfactory con- dition. Helping Mr. Bynes were two full- time maids, Ms. Bryant and Ms. Washing- ton. In addition, a group of part-time maids sent by the Board of Education came in daily to help keep HVJ in good order. 26 MAINTENANCE

GETTING IT TOGETHER This past year, the Jenkins High School PTSA concerned itself mainly with the at- titude of parents and students towards the school. The goal was to inform par- ents about what was going on around the school and to encourage them to volun- teer to help in some areas. By planting Azaleas around the school, the PTSA hoped that students would take more pride in the school's appearance. Also, they conducted a workshop on shoplifting to benefit both students and parents. The 1980-81 PTSA officers were Mrs. Betty Dasher-President. Mr. Bazemore- Vice President, Mrs. Ella Stell-Secretary. and Mr. Ward Powers-Treasure.
