Mr. Woodrow Crosby, the new principal at Jenkins, came to us from Myers Junior High where he had been principal for a year and a half. During his first year in a high school, lie made many changes. Me had the entrance poles and doors around school painted red, established an information booth in the main loggia, hung pictures in the halls, and campaigned against litterbugging. All of this helped make Jenkins very attractive. Mr. Crosby set some new goals for MVJ for 1977-78 more student council activity and Jenkins advancement to no. ADMINISTRATION This past year Mr. Bcrksteiner, Mr. Jackson, and Mr. Spear were very efficient in solving the disciplinary problem of skippers at HVJ. The trio of assistant principals patrolled the school like FBI agents. Walkie-talkie systems and hall monitors surprised many students who were caught in the act. Mr. Spear worked with discipline, clubs, textbooks, athletics, and the selling of season tickets. He enjoyed his work and wanted the students to make HVJ what it should be. Mr. Jackson headed the county school bus transportation, daily absentee callers, and vocational training. He said that everyone should learn to live by the golden rule. Mr. Bcrksteiner, dealing mainly with discipline, thought that the past year ran more smoothly than before. He enjoyed his job and found that many students tried to improve our beautiful Jenkins High School. UPPER: Mr. Spear relaxes while dreaming of future school days.
