Clam of 1959 The 59616 Look Back The members of the class of ,59 entered their freshman year rather uncertainly but soon had wormed their way into high school society. - Glenda Eiss who had been with the class since the seventh grade, moved to New York. - Class celebrities that year were Duke, who was the first freshman to play varsity basketball and Evie and Eddie who were prom attendants This was the year the freshmen were not exempt from final exams They were affectionately called the Black Sheep Freshmen by the faculty The big thing in the sophomore year was their dance Supersonic Swing which was way out way out anie and Duke represented the class t the Junior prom This was the year in which the Fulton clan took over the school administration Yancy Joined the crowd The first big event of the junior year was the ordering of class rings. - Pokey joined the class via Acquinas High School. - The Twelfth of Never was the juniors big effort with Eddie and Evie reigning as King and Queeng Janie and Jerry were attendants The 79 ers entered the senior year with the knowledge that they would be the first graduating class from YCS The seniors also chalked up another first when they went to Washington, D C over Armistice Day weekend Cries of remember 800 and 801 or bust were heard for many weeks Tom Dooley became the class song by a minority decision The 79 ers enjoyed their power as reigning seniors and reluctantly left the place of their former fun and frolic to go their separate ways iw K- .l JOAN ADAMS MARY ALLGEIER PATRICIA ANDERSON Jody Aggie Yweeme Course business mayor Youngsville Course business major Course Academic math science Choirl2 AA 234 Cholrl4 AA 34 Wlnkelncd34 Page 48
