Debazie The debate club of C. S. is an active or- ganization consisting of voluntary membership from grades 9-12 under the guidance of debate coach, Mr. Joseph K. Strawbridge. It belongs to the Nation- al Forensic League and attends many tournaments held in New York State. Rzfle Club At the date of this writing, the Rifle Club of J.-Y.C,S. is a non-functioning or- ganization. This situation was due to an unapproved area for practice shooting. The organization, under the direction of Prin- cipal Erwin L. Baker, hopes to continue its previous activities, which included competi- tive meets with near-by schools and individ- ual marksmanship competition. Aw Claw General art is required of all 7th and 8th grade pupils. In high school, basic art is required of any art majorg an art major may choose from these electives: art history, block printing, contemporary painting, cos- tume design and illustrating, drawing and painting fin various mediumsl, etching, in- terior design, metal crafts and jewelry, mod- eling and sculpture, painting in oils, paint- ing in water color, stage design, and textile design. flffazwoneiie Club The Marionette Club is a group com- posed of twenty-three students from grades 7-12. Their main project this year was the making of marionettes for the play Snow llffvile, which they also wrote, staged, and produced.
