As DONNA McGUlRE and JULIE ZDELLER always say, 'A friend in need is a friend indeed. For some undetermined reason, as Seniors we became more conscious of our- selves and of each other. Realizing that this was our last year: of picnics and plays, football games and club meetings, and of just being together, we became more tolerant of each other. We leamed to accept our classmates for themselves. Such traditional activities as the Senior Play, the prom, and graduation seemed vastly important, because they were our own. We discovered the true meanings of togethemess, sincerity, and treasured friendships, for we realized that our Senior year might be our last opportunity to encounter such cherished experiences, This is what makes the Class of '77. GIPHP-JE C Uftir-.SSS Y 56 Seniors ' f Four years ago we began our life at jeffersontown High School as Freshmen. Each of us had many dreams and hopes of a school life that would remain in our memories forever. We began as the kids, the youngest of the Senior High classes. We struggled and gained ground. Finally, we reached the goal of our Freshman year: We became Sopho mores. As Sophomores, we were older and wiser, and we had to leam to cope with the experiences which these changes brought. With this year came our first class-sponsored dance, the 1975 Basketball Homecoming Dance. It was our 50's dance and our first taste of being successful as a class, rarher than merely as individuals. .Ss ,. .... a J , A , Our junior year brought changes to each member of the class and to the class as a whole. We were beginning to work together as one body instead of as four hund.red bodies pulling in different directions. During our third year of high school, we sponsored the 1976 Sadie Hawkins Dance. The success of this class activity increased our feelings of class unity. Our tide of success continued with the victory of the Class of '77 in the Boys' Class Basketball Toumament. The spring of 1976 brought our class picnic,-lunior Class Brealtfast, and the culmination of our jun- ior year, the Ring Ceremony. With these events, the Class of '77 reached its state of total unity. We had come ro realize the importance of togethcmcss.
