' Language Clubs - An Exchange of Cultures These five student organizations help to implement the goals and objectives of the Language Department. They act both inde- pendently and in collaboration to provide extracurricular activities which will increase interest in and understanding of foreign lane guage and culture. These clubs attend the Intemational Folk Festival in Cincinnati, and they usually produce their own festive Inter' national Day Program, which unfortunately had to be cancelled because of three weeks of snow days, Other activities include plays, con- certs, seminars, conventions, and dinners, all of which add interest and enjoyment ro the study of foreign language. DECA is involved in many regional and state competitions. Each year the members of DECA prepare and display their projects at various locations to prove themselves ready to enter the world of marketing. This yeat,l'town's DECA Club has a candidate for Regional DIZCA Sweetheart, Linda Lipton. -I'town's DECA members also did very well at rcgionals this year with one first place in public speaking by Daniel johnson, two second places, showcase lettering by Linda Husband and visual display by Mitch Gathof, and three third planes. DECA Quiz hy Mary Eisenback, acl layout by Martha Reid, and merchandising by Debbie Hoffman.
