The Q - , - year started in june when the band traveled to Virginia for rhe Virginia ' Beach Music Festival. There they won the parade comperitiong the band's field show performance received a standing ovation from the entire audi- ence and caused our band to be the most ralked-about band at the show. Following a grueling band camp, the Marching Chargers, under the leader- ship of Lamar Richardson and Drum Major Harold Yzlnlcey, embarked on a successful contest season. After taking rhird place at the Kenrucky Stare Fair, the Chargers won rheir next three con- rests. They won rhe field show at Eliza- bethtown and both parade and field show ar Central City and Ohio County.
