Jyarine Corps Junior ROTC ya Marine Corps junior ROTC occupies facility this year constructed at a cost in excess of 3200,000. Perhaps the finest in the entire United States, this modem complex consists of a classroom: a library utilized for lesson plans, reference material and training aidesg office spaces for both instructors, a modern and complete clothing storeroomg an armory used for storage of drill rifles and matksmanship training equipment, and a ten- point rifle range which is electrically opcr- Lllbl-Hvnninsff ated. The rifle range is used in the marltsman- ship training portion of the training program Targets travel on overhead rails and retum to the shooter for marking and scoring. Such a device precludes wasted time in shooters walking to the targets and is considered a most modern safety device. The junior ROTC is in its sixth year at jeffetsontown and has consistently won hon- ors. They have been named the Best of Ken- tucky for two of thc past four years and have captured the coveted Most Outstanding Unit award for three of the past five years for units in the fourth Marine Corps District.
