The jeffersontown High School Girls' Track Team had a very suc- cessful season last year. They started out in the Mason Dixon games in February by placing fourth in the 880 relay and second in the shot put. Then in the spring, they won all but one their regular season meets. Z-.R rj: Thej-town team of 74475 proved to be one of great promise and unu- sual talent.j-town's cindermen were young fonly two Seniorsj but made up for this handicap with dedication and consistant achievement. The team was truly an international team with runners from Canaga, South America, and West Germany. Headed by Coach Ted Beastall and assisted by Coach Harold Russell, the team established itself as a spring sport of worthy recognition. Senior shot and discus participants, Lee Quinn and Rick Ankeny, were consistant upsetters in the field event and Ankeny eventually went on to participate in state competition. High jumpers Frank Constantine and Zack Dawson wiped out all com- petition in those areas while pole vaulters Allan Riggs, Bobby Quinn, and Gey Texter gained county wide recognition. tTexter vaulted to a new school record at the close of the season.j Sprinter Mark Foster astonished competition with his speed before a leg injury prevented him from continuing in the season. Hurdler Craig Caufield went on to compete in the state meet with his unbelievable times and consistant accomplishment. Sophomore runners Tim Hart- ford and Kevin Stier competed with each other for the recognition of School's best runner with Stier running right on the school record. Injuries and bad weather prevented the team from setting a good win X lose record but the 75-76 season should prove to be a winner. may-v
