The Marine Corps junior ROTC occupied a new facil- ity this year constructed at a cost in excess of 5200,000.00. Perhaps the finest in the entire United States, this modem complex consists of a classroomg a library utilized for les- son plans, reference material and training aidesg office spaces for both instructorsq a modern and complete cloth- ing storeroomg an armory used for storage of drill rifles and marksmanship training equipmentg and a ten-point rifle range which is electrically operatedl The rifle range is used.in the marksmanship training portion of the training program. Targets travel on overhead rails and return to the shooter for marking and scoring. Such ai device precludes wasted time in shooters walking to theitargets and is con- sidered a most modern safety device. The junior ROTC is in its fifth year at ,Ieffersontown and has consistently won honors. They have been named the Best of Kentuckyh for two of the past. three years, and have captured the coveted Most Outstanding Unit award for three of the past four years for units in the 4th Marine Corps District. i l
