The Ecology Club was founded during the 1973-74 school year with the joint purposes of improving the environment and teaching others about ecology. With these aims in mind, the Ecology Club has sponsored several projects to benefit our community, including a paper drive and ri car emis- sion clinic. The club's main project for the 1975-76 school year was designed to ben- efitftown students as well as the environment. The club sponsored an alu- minum drive contest in which the class collecting the most aluminum would receive 2596 of the profits made from the sale of the aluminum. The Ecology Club's share of the profits was used to finance nature study trips and other environmental projects. The Hurstboume Kiwanis Club works with the Key Club in sponsoring their service activities.
