Would you know what 13 times the reciprocal of 27 plus 34 divided by the square root of 45 is? Someone on the Math League or the High-Q Team could probably give the answer in no time. jeffersontown High School is a member of the Louisville Mathematics League, an organization which recogs nizes and awards academic achievement in mathematics. The league has four meets during each school year. So far this year, .I-town is in first place in their district. Gary Albin is first in the senior divisiong jay Bailey and Keerthi Kemparajurs are second and third respectively in the sophomore division. High-Q, an organization to honor outstanding achievement and quick recall in high schools, is sponsored by WAVE Television. Twenty-five or more schools in the WAVE viewing area perform on live television on Sun- day afternoons between january and late May of each year. Chosen after several days of written exams and oral competition, this year's senior team is striving to continue in the excellent footsteps of last year's team which won matches against Seneca, Fern Creek, and Ballard only to lose to Country Day in the finals. Along with this year's team, three hopefuls, Susie Maddox, Sona Luna and Keerthi Kemparajurs, who were the outstanding underclassmen in try- outs. are practicing each Thursday hop- ing to be on the team next year.
