T e unior Class Prophecy As we were taking a' business tour in the year of 1966, we visited many of the points of interest we had studied in school. We were surprised to meet some of our former schoolmates. Our first stop was Washington D. C. When we checked in for the night at the hotel. we were surprised to find that Rose Ann Marble was our hotel clerk. After talking with her for awhile we retired to our rooms. The next morning we began our tour of the city with Phillip Hammitt as our guide. He first took us to the White House to see President WayneBollenbacher. Wayne invited us to spend the evening with him and his wife, the former Arlene Sommer. Our guide then took us to a cozy little cafe, called the Doi-tbill Cafe, where we had lunch. The name did not strike us until Phil told us the proud proprietors were Dorothy Frank and Ann Luginbill. We returned to our hotel to prepare for the evening. After a luscious dinner. Wayne asked if we would be interested in attending a Washington Senators ball ganie. We told him we would and we we re very much surprised to see Bill Smitley as the ir famous star. For our last day in Washington D. C., Phil suggested that we visit the F. B. I. Much to our amazement we found that Carl Wellman is now taking the place of J. Edgar Hoover. We grabbed our bags, loaded into our car, and started for New York. Just as we were passing a beautiful little country church we saw the familiar faces of Bob Caffee and Patsy Bollenbacher appearing frorn the door. You could tell by their happy expressions that the knot had just been tied. While we were talking to them they told us they were going to make their home in Ohio, but they thought it would be nice to corue out he re to have their former classmate, the Reverend Kenneth Swan, perform the ceremony. We had not gone far until we were involved in a minor car accident. We were taken to a near-by physician's office for a checkup. We were much surprised to find Frederick Lehman as our friendly doctor. As we reached the outskirts of New York we we re startled to see every billboard announcing the personal appearance of the famed movie star, Rachael Stolz. They say she is the second Jane Russell. We spent that night resting comfortably in a hotel, but the next morning we were anxious to start sight-seeing. While we were visiting around we heard there was to be a Ladies' Wrestling Championship Match that evening. This interested us, so we planned to attend. Who do you suppose came forth when the bell rang ? None other that Colleen Elgly and Virginia Baker. As we talked to them in their dressing rooms, they told us it was hard to wrestle against classmates. We the class of 1957 wish you the class of 1956 the best of luck! Senior Class Histor In the fall of nineteen hundred and forty-four our class cornprised of twenty-eight members began our school career with Mrs. Madeline Ste in- brunner as our teacher. Miss Kenney was our teacher in the third grade. Mr. Robert Paxson and Mrs. Ruby Miller were our teachers in the fifth and sixth grades, respectively. When we entered Junior High School, our class had decreased to twenty members. We elected class officers and we then started functioning as a class. With lwlrs. Nell Lee as our sponsor we began our journey through high school in nineteen hundred fifty-two with nineteen members. The day of our initiation was packed with fun and in the evening, the Sophomores took us on a hayride. Our Sophomore year was a busy one! lwlr. Fred Hoagland was our sponsor until Christmas, at which time he left us and was replaced by Earl Hartmen. We were in charge of initiating the Freshmen and had them dress for P. T. A. We sponsored a chile supper which was very successful. We sold magazines to earn money for our class trip. Our sponsor for our Junior year was Mr. Frederick Beeson. Rachel Stolz and Colleen Elgly were chosen as cheerleaders for the first team. We again sold magazines and also greeting cards. A highlight of the year was the Junior- Senior Reception that began with a supper at the Dutch Mill in Bluffton with the class of nineteen hundred fifty-five as our guests. Following the supper most of us went to Fort Wayne. As a climax to our school year, we took our class trip with the Seniors to Washington D. C. Last fall we joyfully entered our last year at Jefferson with fifteen members left in our class. We elected the following officers: President, Rose Ann Marbleg Vice-President. Carl Wellmang Secretary, Patsy Bollenbacherg and Treasurer, Bill Smitley. We edited the Jeffersonian. Fred Lehman, Wayne Bollenbacker, Bill Smitley, Bob Caffee, Phil Hammitt, and Carl Wellman represented our class on the varsity basketball team and other sports. The students that have attended Jefferson Township school twelve years are: Virginia Baker, Colleen Egly, Phillip Hammitt, Fred Lehman, Rose Ann Marble, Bill Srnitley, and Rachael Stolz. The rest of our class join with them in wishing to all graduates of the future, good luck, good health, and happiness. N ' S ' Hair, 'vit 5 it r l Q v 1-x . Stolz Creed of the Homemaking Department Home making Stands For: The ideal home life for today not held back by the tradition of the past. The use of the resources of modern science to improve home life. High ideals for our families and the ability to keep them above things of lesser importance. A home of simplicity and beauty, which will free our minds and time to further interest of family and community needs. The junior and senior girls have had in their homemaking class this year personal grooming, textiles and fabrics, advanced clothing construction, tailoring and family living. The freshmen and sophomore girls have been busy the first semester in their food preservation, buying family food, and preparation of family meals pro- jects. The se cond semester they will be equally busy studying home nursing and child care and development. The junior high girls have had an interesting course of study which was: personal grooming, planning and preparation of school lunches, making Christmas toys, clothing construction, and helping in the care of the home. For the first time in several years there was a boys' homemaking class. Among the things they studied were the selection and purchase of clothing, meal planning and preparation, and family living. We have crowded into it memories of our high school days at Jefferson. We hope it may bring back pleasant memories and smiles to all who read it. In our high school days we have found that life consists of more than books and classroom knowledge, papers, and tests. We have learned to think, to assume responsibility, and to live together. We have played in the field of sports, taken our roles on the stage, marched in the band, sung in the glee club, and delved in salesmanship of magazines, cards, and refreshments. Parties and activities all have been a part of our education. We have enjoyed our years together at Jefferson and shall always remem- ber our school, our teachers, and parents who helped us toward an enriched life. - --121 , fy jr :i:AQ. .im DDD DDU U 900 990 'a 1, ffl N IWERTISING ff-X ff 1 fi I fzf' f flf' .f . 1, xifid o 1 4' H 'K O o Geneva BANK Compliments Oi CDF GENEVA XNSUIBJ4, Q' a s 6 Qx 56, mi: QS: E .givoaua S 'Lf ef!!
