Senior Class History Twelve long years ago we started our long journey through school as a very ' ambitious group of nineteen boys and girls, with Mrs. Steinbrurmer as our first and second grade teacher. In the third and fourth grade we met our new teacher, Miss Kenney. We lost some and picked up a few along the way as we moved 'up stairs into the fifth and sixth grades, where Mrs. Beaty was our teacher. Paul Stolz, Olen Bollenbacher and Clifford Kuhn joined us there. In the seventh and eighth grades we moved up with the high school students. There we were proud to welcome Orla Kuhn and Jo Uhrick into our class. Our initiation day was a great success. We were taken to Sunset Skating Rink in a stone truck by the Sophomore class. Also in our Freshman year we welcomed another new member, Linda McCain. Jean Weaver, Faye Haines and Linda McCain left us during our Sopho- more year, which left us with only thirteen members. Later in the year Olen Bollenbacher left us. At the beginning of our Junior year we were shocked to learn that Norman Wall and Marilyn fCharlestonl Keller did not return. Toward the end of the year we were disappointedio lose the friendly face of .Terry Mae fSmitleyl Kuhn. Our class was well represented in our Junior-Senior Class Play, Hillbilly Courtship ', with Dick Butcher, Myrna Weaver, Jo Uhrick and Larry Coblentz taking part. When we started our Senior year, we were still happy to have eight of our old members, who are struggling to continue this year. We were sorry to lose Paul Stolz. At the beginning of the year we met with our sponsor, Mr. Ed Heimann, with whom we all enjoy working, and chose the following students to make the plans for our class activities: President, Jo Uhrickg Vice-President, Dave Hammitt: Secretary and Treasurer, Myrna Weaver. We were also highly honored this year to see Myrna Weaver crowned Queen?' of the high school. Our class is very well represented on the basketball floor with Dick Butcher, Orla Kuhn, Larry Coblentz and Dave Hammitt playing on the varsity team. We wish the very best of luck to all future graduates of J. H. S., and hope they enioy these twelve years as we have.
