H. S. to further our education. We met with our sponsor, Mr. Boller and elected the following class officers: President, Richard Kellerg Vice-President, Jack Wendelg Sec- retary-Treasurer, Marilyn Brewster. Richard Keller, Jack Wendel, Gilly Kuhn, John Overholser, Larry Miller, and Lindell Ross have all done a good job on the basketball floor and we are proud of them We think the Junior Fall Festival was a great success. IUNIOR PROPHESY In perusing a recent issue of the Chatt anooga Choo Choo Gazette, I found some in- teresting news about the members of the Jefferson Graduating Class of 1951. Patsy John- son is living on Lake Shore Drive in Chicago, where she divides her time between her devoted lawyer husband, their three children and her modeling work. Patsy's halo of blond hair and Winsome smile may be seen in tooth paste ads in various national mag- azines from coast to coast. Darrel Kuhn is Jefferson Township's most progressive Hpay dirt farmer. Darrel is operating a goat and bee farm. He personally delivers milk and honey to nearby towns by helicopter. Darrel is married and has a charming set of blond, twin daughters. Darrel plans to have his daughters major in Home Economics at Purdue hoping that they will learn to prepare meals as delectable as those he formerly enjoyed at the Palmer House. Twelve

Don Gerber is a proof reader for the Chicago Daily News. Don has been so ab- sorbed in his work that until very recently he has inadvertently eluded the silken man- acles of matrimony. Rumor has it that an attractive heiress is casting coy glances in Don's direction and it is expected that Don will shortly succumb to her blandishments and be, not to unwillingly, hauled down the aisle to the altar. Ruth Lehman is cashier in her husbands Super Duper Market located on State Road 27 just outside of Berne, where she meets customers with her winsome smile. The store features a leader every Saturday which draws customers from miles around. This is a delicious ginger snap wafer made from a secret recipe which Ruthie bakes at home after store hours. Norman Haines, it seems, is one of Jefferson's more illustrious sons. His name is found in Who's Who , due possibly to having written several financially successful agricultural books. He is known in the community as our t'Gentleman farmer due no doubt to the fact that he commutes, on his scooter, between his farm here and Purdue University where he lectures to the Agriculture boys on the latest practical t'wrinkles in farming: Shortly after graduation, Anna and Betty both married the ardent service men who had been haunting their steps for the past several months. In order to be with their husbands the girls both joined the W, A. C. S. Anna obtained an officer's commis- sion and has succeeded in getting Betty elevated to officer's ranking also. The girls have found though that this has its drawbacks because their husbands find it humil- iating to have to salute them on meeting, and furthermore, the girls have been re- primanded on several occasions by their superior officer for having been seen too often consorting with enlisted men ftheir husbands of coursej which the Army considers below the dignity of the rank of an officer. The girls are now frantically appealing to their old Jefferson friends to exert political influence at Washington in order to have their husbands advanced in rank. Leave it to Anna and Betty to find a way to stay with their husbands. Lyle Tumbleson is doing research work for Uncle Sam in Northern Alaska. Lyle, it seems, is doing his utmost to win one of the local Eskimo girls there. The only shadow over the romance seems to be a peculiar propensity of the young lady's mother to regale Lyle with liberal helpings of blubber during his frequent calls at the igloo. She apparently thinks Lyle a trifle thin. Lyle, poor boy, naturally finds this redun- dancy of Eskimo cuisine somewhat more than a bit disturbing. Lyle is planning to spend his honeymoon in the environs of good old Jeff,' so that he and Norman can collaborate on inventing a machine which will help High School kids get their book- keeping. Floreine, after receiving her diploma from Nurses' Training, has taken a position as supervisor of a military hospital. Many of the boys it appears are falling heir to minor ailments, battle fatigue, etc., so that they can bask in the effulgence of Flor- eine's smiling countenance while convalescing. It seems that a certain individual re- ferred to as Junior did it up right and broke his leg so that he could prolong his stay in the hospital for six months. What the outcome of all these incipient romances will be, of course, has Floreine's friends guessing. Gerald Miller, according to report, has tried many different kinds of work but al- ways returns to his first love, basketball. Gerald is now the outstanding player on the famous Piston team and is known by his friends as the Flying Miller , by his oppon- ents as Miller the Killer. We heartily congratulate our classmates on their achievements and wish them all the happiness of a full and satisfying life. Thirteen
