T. H. S. with the feeling that they already knew what was to take place. Those feeling they really knew the score were: Colleen Cover, Lana Donaldson, Judy Correll, Roberta Overfield, Joellen Howard, Miriam Fisher, Bonnie Rairigh, Judy Burrous, Ruth Yoder, Dianne Benedict, Sharon McCain, Susie Miller, Sandra Krause, Christine Schmidt, Alma Malott, Bruce Weaver, Bill Berkeiser, Tom Grimes, Dave Dilts, Dave Benedict, Dick Wright, Ralph Shilling, Keith Kraning, Eddie Orpurt, Hal McClain, Rex Lease, Jerry Hopper, Harold Shafer, Jake Winningham, Don Shultz, Charles Bailey, and Charles Kline. The first incident to really prove our standing as Freshmen was initiation. The Sophomores saw to it that we got what they thought we deserved. Mr. Fred Warner was elected our class sponsor. For our first semester class party we attended a show and, at the conclusion ofthe evening, we enioyed cider and doughnuts at Howards'. For our second semester class party we helped the Junior Class in their effort to make money by going to their skating party at Rock Lake. We started our Sophomore year a little more accustomed to the high school routine. Our class began to decrease in size when Alma Malott, Don Shultz, Charles Bailey, and Charles Kline left us. Carl Correll moved here from Peru and Patsy Starkweather from Clay, helping the increase by two. This year we elected as our class sponsor, Mr. Robert McDonald. We showed our superiority to the Freshmen by an initiation party. A Halloween party at the Denver Community Building proved successful as our first semester class party . In order to raise our financial standing, we sponsored a skating party at Valley View Rink. At the beginning of our Junior year we were proud to be flashing new class rings and class sweaters. We lost four members of our class: Sandra Krause, Sharon McCain, Dave Dilts, and Ralph Shilling. This year we were determined to prove ourselves in acting and salesmanship. We did so in presenting our class play Out of This World. Miss Fisher was our director. As salesmen, we took over the concessions at the ballgames, which helped our class treasury. The highlight of our Junior year was the reception we gave the Seniors. We escorted the Seniors to Steer lnn ot Silver Lake. Afterwards we attended a movie, Seven Hills of Rome, at North Manchester. In August following our Junior year, Miss Fisher entertained our class with a Nit-Wit party held at her home. At last we were Seniors and had reached our goal. This year we had lost Roberta Overfield and the second semester we lost Colleen Cover and Eddie Orpurt, making the total of our class twenty-two. Our first activity for the year was the sponsoring of the Halloween Carnival. We were happy to have our queen candidate, Dianne Benedict, to reign as queen. In addition to this we presented our Senior play, Deadly Ernest, October l6th and l7th. It was under the direction of Mrs. Cooper. On the morning of March 2lst, twenty-two sleepy seniors boarded a bus in Mexico to leave for Washington, D. C. and New York. We arrived home on March 27th. Baccalaureate was held on May l7th and our Commencement on May l9th. We chose Be A Voice, Not An Echo for our motto and Red Roses for our class flower. By working hard for twelve years we hope we may all prove ourselves as voices and not echoes. Class Will We, the Seniors, who have left many years behind with the help of our parents, are now facing the fact that we will soon be out in the world on our own. There's no doubt that we do not know what is going to happen in the future, but we are making the following wills from what has happened in the past. First, we the Seniors, as a whole, would like to make the following wills to the teachers, who have been very understanding with us and our problems, and teaching us to the best of their ability. To Mr. Shambarger, we will and bequeath for the coming year, a calm and understanding class such as we have been. To Mr. Miller, we will and bequeath a do it yourself kit to maintain his flat top and color of hair, so that he will always have that youthful appearance. Prophecy As we study our astrology tonight, we bring into focus, through our visualometer, an unusual array of lights. We realize that these lights are shining out from the gaily decorated home ofthe McCIains. It looks like they are getting ready for a big party tonight. We discover the McClains, Hal and Judy, engaged in a violent quarrel. lt all started when Judy found some of Hal's pay check in his pocket. The ringing of the doorbell interrupts the quarrel. It seems that the dance band has arrived. Mert's Band has become quite well-known, and they recently appeared on Stand the Band. The next one to arrive is the professional wrestler, Chris the Crusher. She now holds the title of Airweight Champion of the World. She weighs in at ninety-eight and a quarter pounds. Sitting in a secluded corner of the room, shuffling her cards, is the owner of the Correll Casino. Judy has beaten all of her competition and is now trying to win a game against herself. We hear a loud crash as Harold and Keith land their flying bikes. They are competing with the Air Force for top speed records in flying machines. Bonnie and Joellen have arrived with their six-shooters and magnifying glasses. They own a detective agency. Their slogan is We Always Get Our Man. Pat Starkweather, a noted surgeon, has a look of anticipation as she watches the bubble-eaters around the punch bowl. She has been experimenting with a cure which will remove the bubbles from the bubble- eaters. Tom Grimes is quite alone at the party tonight. After three engagements and no marriage, he has decided to quit trying and has isolated himself completely. Ruth iscplanning another impossible stunt. Since she graduated from high school she swam the English Channel un er water. Now she is attempting an around-the-world horseback ride. There's heartbroken Dick . He has won fame and fortune in the sports world as the only maior league player to strike out two hundred forty-four consecutive times. He still hasn't found a woman who suits im . Here are Dianne and Lana, dragging their faithful stand-bys. After six years of going steady, they have decided their only goal in life is not to get married. Bruce is quite a handsome man now. All the girls are chasing him since he's dyed his hair black and uses a iar of Silky-Straight every morning, noon, and night. Professor Jerry Hopper iust arrived. It seems he is head of the Music Department at Male University, in Nomadia, Antarctica. Joyce White sent her regrets that she is not able to be at the party tonight. She is tied up with her Kindergarten teaching, and can't leave all the little kids. Here comes Professor D. R. Benedict with his palette and paint brushes. Dave is quite famous now, because of his great painting, The Myra Lisa. This is the only painting in the world which is comparable to the well-known Mona Lisa. There is only one person, Susie Miller, missing from this party and unaccounted for. Everyone seems to have lost track of her since the Senior Trip. She got in a Floating Crap game and is sti l floating. Now, as a new day is dawning, we are losing sight of the gay party and all of our classmates. In case you're wondering, we're Dr. John D. Winningham, Jr., and Professor Rex I:ease. Our latest invent- ion Qamong othersi is a portable hole. It has many uses, but we haven't decided what they are at this time.
