Senior Class Prophecy It was on a bright sunny day, June 23, 1972 that we walked into Grand Cen- tral Station in New York to purchase tickets to Chicago. ' We went up to the ticket window and to our surprise there stood Dick Murray. Dick, formerly the class midget, had grown to be quite a muscle man. For he now stands six feet, two inches tall and weighs 200 pounds. We talked ' to him a few minutes and then started toward the gate. When we got there, we found, again to our surprise, the gateman was none other than Duane Arnett. He said he was very happily married and had two sets of twins. We showed him our tickets and walked on down the platform to board the train, which was on track '13. At 6:30, our train finally started on its way. We were making ourselves comfortable in our seats when we heard a familiar voice calling 'Tickets, Tick- ets, please . Looking around, we saw our old friend Beryl Wesler. We talked to him awhile and he told us that there were more members of the class of '50 in the dining car. He then took our tickets and left us. After several hours of riding, we became hungry and went to the dining car to eat. As we were waiting for our order, we saw, stepping through the door, a distinguished looking gentleman, dressed in a gray tweed suit. To our amaze- ment it was Melvin Diggs. He recognized us and came over to join us. We learned from him that he was sales manager for the Zazo-Gro-Thin Company, makers of reducing tablets. He told us the tablets were guaranteed to make you lose weight without dieting or exercising. He looked as though he could use some of those tablets himself because you see ----- he weighs over ZOO pounds. After our meal, we returned to our pullman. As we sat down we happened to look across the aisle and there sat an old gray-haired lady peering through her horn rimmed glasses. She turned and spoke to us and we saw that she was Deborah Jurgens. She said she was the principal of a large school in Philadelphia. She was returning to her home in Chicago where she was to spend her summer vacation. At ten o'clock, our train pulled into Union Station in Chicago. We were walking down the street when we saw a couple of street cleaners whose faces looked familiar. Approaching closer, we recognized them as Norman Mull and Maurice Burden. We talked with them awhile and then went on our way. We had gone about two blocks farther down the street, when we met Roma Franklin and her ten children strung out behind her. She told us she was very happily married to Reverend Herschel Snyder and that they were living in a swank apartment on the south side of Chicago. She also told us that lovely Lillian Bonnett and Louise Fussner were working as hula girls at the Merry Time Cafe under the names of Freda and Becky. Z2
