A Jefferson Freshman must stand proudly tall. He provides the leadership for the service clubs. He is the class and office aide. He is the team's captain. He is the idol of the seventh grader and the symbol of achievement to the eighth grader. He has justly earned this position over the past three years . The Freshman carries the most responsibility for keep- ing the Statesman name bright as he reaches outside of school and interacts with others. He reaches out of the teen-age image and begins to comprehend the adult view. He is the culmination of all that jefferson has to offer. In him lies our success as he continues his metamorphosis into an educated young adult. 72
