STUDENT'S PETS You have all heard of teacher's pets at one time or another. Something new has happened -- student's pets. Members of the ninth grade class were asked to name their favorite teacher and tell why they liked him or her. Joe Cook - Mr. Bair. I just love typing. Frank Reed - Mr. Lang, he's the intell- ectual type and I think he likes me. Bill Beii - 1 iike Mr. L91-cn, mainly because he is standing right next to me. Anita Lohse - I think Miss Moran is a wonderful teacher and one to always help. Penn Shumaker - Mr. Shaffer, because of his corny jokes. Art Krudener - Mr. Walker, because he likes popcorn. Joanne Fisherkeller - Mr. Walker, he's always patient with me. Bob Shields - Mr. Meyers, he is a good teacher. Bill Nuernberg - Miss Olzack, because I don't have her. Nancy Eck - Mr. Lang, I don't know, I just like him. Jane Falk - Mr. Lang, because his tests are so easy. Mary Weil - I like Mrs. Hartmann because she explains things so well. Mike Young - I refuse to commit m self. Don Stechschulte - Mr. Meyers, I like the way he talks. Dennis Pilarski - Mr. Ward, he's a fair GUY- by Linda Ruck ON LEAVING JEFFERSON It will not be long now before many of us will be going to classes at Jefferson for the last time. No longer will we walk through these halls. No longer will we enter these sunlit classrooms. No longer will we be in junior high at 3.110 what does this mean? Where does this leave us? Jefferson has been quite an experience, at times good, and at times, perhaps, not so good. There have been those happy moments. The thrill of receiving a long-awaited A on that last test, the discovery of just the right girl or boy at the school dance, the golden opportunity to do that special chore for that special teacher, the nervous anxiety oi performing in an auditorium pro- gram, to mention just a few. There have also been unhappy moments. That teacher who was Hso unfair,U the disappointment of not receiving that A for which you worked so hard, that big bully that keeps bothering you, homework in seemingly inhumane quantities. These we have also experienced. Jn retrospect, what do each of us as individuals think? Have we gained something from it, enough to over- shadow anything that hasn't gone right? Have we gotten as much out of Jeffer- son as we possibly can. The answer is obvious. You are on your way to success. W to , 4

Just recently the 7-l's and the 8-S's played each other with the B-5's winning. It was a good game with much team spirit on both sides. The 8-5's being the winners, were challenged to play the mighty 9-9's. This, too, was a good game, with the 9-9's winning to be- come the school champions.
