OUR RIFLE TEAM who said a girl can't shoot a gun? Just ask the high school rifle team what they think of Jefferson's rifle team under the supervision of Mr. Neal. After we soundly defeated them a few weeks ago, there's been a definite change in their opinion toward our out- standing team. Much praise should be given to Mr. Neal because of the remark- able work he has done with his Hshootersn The ninth grade rifle team consists of 30 members, 20 girls and 10 boys. They hold practice at the high school on Mondays between six and ten o'c1ock. Much work must be put into this activity by Mr. Neal. However, I'm sure he en- joys it. Why, just the other day I over- heard him confess that he thinks he has prettier members on this rifle team than any other. Isnlt that so, Nikki Paulus and Patti Bayers? Other members of the team include: Kristi Uddstrom Michele Marra Chris Emery Louise Poole Joanne Miller Nikki Paulus Penny Shumaker Sandy Geist Gail Maston Francine Rickel Jane Brennon Pat Thomas Bobbie Yochum Vicki Brick Patti Bayers Ann Bastian Linda Read Dick Studley Bob Barnes Ja Richmond Henry Green Bill Nuernberg Mike Young Bill Gilliland Fred Franke Bill Hartsough YOUR LIFE' S WORK In the theater, talent isn't the only thing needed for success. A variety of things are needed - determination, courage and something to start with. The same holds true for an and every other life's career. Besides talent there are prerequisites which con- tribute towards success in your chosen f 0 It's never too late to start, and now is the perfect time. The right way to reap a good harvest is to sow the right seeds in the right place at the right time. You put your best effort into that harvest and when it comes up, it is not a matter of right timing or luck. It's the sowing that counts. Actors and actresses don't become stars overnight, and if they do, it's rare! Writers don't sit down one day and wriet a best-seller the next day. Time, talent, determination, prepara- tion and conviction must be written in to it. If you sow different seeds, not unnaturally, a different harvest will be harvested.
