She is from Mt. Lebanon and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from St, Mary's of Notre Dame. Miss M ller did one and one-half year's work at Ohio University and is working towards her Master's degree at Duquesne University. Miss Mi11er's hobbies are dram tics, bridge, and the puppet work she does for her first grade classes in speech. Her favorite sports are bowling, swimming, and all spectator sports. She likes opera and popular music, but not jazz. An thing dramatic, such as Alcoa Theater, is Miss Miller' preference on television. When asked if she had any tips on better speaking for junior high school students, Miss Miller said, HBe aware that anything worth saying is worth saying well. This includes speaking with clearness, pleasantness, inter- est, enthusiasm, etc.n She said that most junior high school students, because of an inablilty to express themselves, hold back when they really could contribute much to a conversation. She chose speech because it was a challenge and because she could travel with the work and not be chained to one location. She teaches in three elementary and two junior high schools. Miss Miller's greatest wish is to r reach those students who are not now being reached. Her pet peeve is people who use a speech problem in an effort to be funny. Miss Miller says, NSpeech correction is nothing to be ashamed of. It is something to be encouraged and accepted.N Your reporter is sure that anyone who has met her will agree that Miss Miller is an interesting young woman with a vital place on the faculty of Jefferson Junior High. by Cathy Campbell
