In eighth and ninth grade they are electives. Some boys elected cooking this year. This year all four home economics teachers teach cooking and sewing.

General Business teaches a student something about banking. Once a personhas learned to type it is much neater and faster than hand- writing. This is Mr. Show- ers second year at Jeffer- Mrs. Carolyn Ghent University of Illinois, B.A. Head of Foreign Language Dept., Spanish and General Language The subjects taught in the Language Department are Latin, Spanish, French and General Language. General Language gives the student enough know- ledge about several differ- ent languages. Miss Snyder has taught at Lycee de Sevres school in France. Body Shop Woodworking Mr. Brown and his associates work very hard to teach their students the basic principles of the general shops. The shop courses taught at Jefferson are graphic arts, metals, woods, general shop, electricity, power, and drafting. A11 seventh grade boys take beginning drafting one semester and general shop the other. In eighth and ninth grade, industrial arts courses are electives.
