In order to get into the Seventh Grade Orchestra, 3 student must pass an aptitude test. He or she must also know how to play the particular instrument he wishes to play in the Orchestra. Mr. E. K. Hart teaches the stringed instruments and Mr. Saarinen teaches the other instruments. This yearts Orchestra Concert was given on April fourth.

FIRST ROW: Carol Carlson, Kris Hallblade, Barb Hallblade, Sharon Ketcham, Eddie Prochaska, Rebecca Stuck, Dee Tyler, M. B. Erwin. Here at Jefferson, we have had an Ensemble for three years. There are twenty members, each with several years of piano, organ, or voice lessons. These students perform at the Christmas program in December, and at the Spring Concert in April. The members decide what kind of costumes they will wear, and they pay for the costumes themselves.

SECOND ROW: Bob Olson, Scott Jonsson, John Finley, Kevin Griffen, Dave Harvey, John Burchett, Dave Miller. FIRST ROW: Greg Schmidt, Matt Badley, Mark Taylor, Bruce Wassman, Steve Anderson. Mr. Garwood is the instructor of the Eighth Grade Band. There are ninety-one members of which only one is a girl. However, this is the first year girls have been allowed in the band. This is the last year the term Eighth Grade Band will be used as beginning next year it will be called the Cadet Band. At present they meet during the fourth hour of each day.
