The Junior Red Cross is made up of one representative from each homeroom. The members collected over thirty dollars at the beginning of this school year. Part of this collection was used in the sending of canned goods to the families of men in Viet Nam. As their second project, the members decided to make friendship boxes, which were sent to children in homes and hospitals. A doughnut sale was held in order to raise funds for this project. Miss Baxter was in charge of the Red Cross this year.

The Spanish Club consists of second year Spanish students who meet twice a month. The officers elected in January were JoAnn Provensano, President; Cathy Jansen, Vice President; Peggy Brazones, Secretary; and Larry Slutsky, Treasurer. The club has enjoyed seeing Spanish films and listening to speakers who have visitedAISpanish countries. The big event for the club was when they broke the Pinata during the Foreign Language Christmas Party. Mrs. Ghent, Jeffersonts Spanish teacher, was the advisor for the club.
