Introduction As we survey the years which are to come, we cannot help but wonder what is in store for us. It would be impossible for us to record completely one school year at Jefferson, but we hope that what we have portrayed will enable you to relive your own school days. Superintendent Dr. Shaheen came to Rockford on July 1, 1965, to assume the position of superintendent of schools. Prev- iously he was superintendent at Commack, New York. Dr. Shaheen is responsible for the schools as a whole, super- vising the hiring of teachers and ordering of books,meeting with the Board of Education, and informing the people of the community about the condition and needs of the schools.
