Seventh grade girls must have one semester of cooking and one semester of sewing. In eighth and ninth grade, they are electives. 15

Each year they have a mass production unit in which centerpieces are produced in large quantities and sold to Jefferson students. The various courses offered to the students are graphic arts, woods, metal working, general shop, electricity, power, and girls, and boys, drafting.

Last years French teacher, Mr. Hill, is now teaching at Auburn High School. This year we have Miss Snyder, who has taught at lycee de Sevres in Sevres, France, and at Highland School in Rockford. Most of the students are enrolled in French and Spanish,but many still take Latin. This year there are about three hundred and sixty students enrolled in the courses in foreign language. General Business is designed to give the students knowledge about banking, credit, saving, and other business deala ings. Typing is a good course to take because once learned it is faster and neater than handwriting. This year Mrs. Runyan taught from September to November, then was replaced by Mr. Showers.
