The 1966-67 J-Hawks finished third in the con- ference standings with 7 wins and 7 losses. Mike Thomas was the highest scorer for Jefferson with 213 total points and a 14.2 average. Mike is the third highest scorer in the history ofJefferson. Mikeis teammates responded by voting him as the most valuable player. Brad Lofgren, elected honorary captain, was the number two scorer with an 11.6 average. Jim Ely also scored in the double figures with a 10.2 average. The J-Hawks at one time lost four games by a combined total of a mere 11 points. These heart- breaking games were revenged in the second half of the season when Jefferson soundly defeated every opponent that had defeated them earlier except Lincoln. This spirit and courage characterized the team throughout the season.
