SECOND ROW: Denny Larson, Brent Johnson,Jeff Birch, Rick Stokes, Andy Owens, Gary Meader, Brad Lofgren, Lenny Gallagher, Scott Cain, Allen McDowell, Bob Garnhardt, Brian Klaas, Ralph McConnell, Dave Cox, Allen Stewart, Dean Almquist, Randy Carlson. FIRST ROW: Rick Kindstrom, Scott Brees, Kenny Lewis, Archie Reeder, Mitch Anderson, Robert Sockwell, Jerry Latin, Gary Heard, Jan Capone, Pat McEntee, Gary Schmidt, Bob Hess, Larry Powers, Jack Lindquist, Charles Carney tmanageo. Mr. Costello and Mr. Zanello were the 1966 track coaches at Jefferson. As Mr. Zanello has been transferred to Guilford High School, our assistant track coach is now Mr. Marshall Carlson. In the 1966 junior high school all-city track meet, Jeffersonis Tim McCrudden placed first in the varsity 440ward dash with a time of 56.6 seconds. Clint Lamb placed second in the 880. Jefferson's 440-yard relay team placed second, and our 880-yard relay team finished third. . In the junior varsity events of the same all-city meet, Gary Heard of Jefferson placed first in the 100-yard dash, running that event in 11.6 seconds. Dave Cox placed first 'in the 220 with a time of 24.5 seconds. Cox also won some points in the 100-yard dash, finishing in third place. Jan Capone placed third in the 220. Jefferson as ateam placed fourth in the city meet. When the track season was over, the team members held an election, as they do each year. For captain of the team, they chose Clint Lamb. Tim McCrudden was voted the most valuable member of the team, and they considered Ralph McConnell to be the most improved during the season. 144
