This Yearts Football Awards Miss BucknelPs Demonstration Howard Cleaves1 Explorations On Thursday, September 15, 1966, Jefferson had its first assembly of the school year. For two periods in the afternoon, Mr. J. B. Flesner presented 11The Wonderful World of Words . He told us stories from memory, and also read to us. On Tuesday, October 11, Mr. Chester Cwiertnia entertained us from 8:30 to 9:22 in the morning. He sang and played on his trumpet. On Monday, November 14, Miss Elaine Bucknell worked in front of the curtain with mation- ettes. About half way through the program, Miss Bucknell showed us the process by which she makes her own marionettes.

Swimming stars The Cheerleaders Miss Demetrie Wilson brought two seals to show us on Wednesday, Febmary 1. One was an older, trained seal which was able to show the audience several excellent tricks, while the other was a young seal that Miss Wilson trains on the stage as she travels, so as to show her audiences how to train a seal. Mr. Howard Cleaves arrived on Tuesday, March 7 to entertain us with pictures of wildlife. His pictures are taken from behind the Magic Carpet Blind. This device is so realistic that cows have tried eating the imitation grass. Mr. Cleaves is a leading photographer-lecturer with the National Audubon Society and has gone across the country many times on their tours.
