hi Psychiatric ffiliation In 1949 the hleflerson Hospital Student Nurses began affiliating at Chestnut Lodge in Rock- ville, lyld., for three months psychiatric training. This course under the able direction of lVIiss Emmy Lanning is one of the most interesting and exciting services of our training period. In classes of Basic Psychiatry, Practical Psychiatry, Sociology Psychology and Psychiatry Applied to General Nursing, we are taught personality traits, psycho-therapy, electric shock therapy, insulin shock therapy and generally what we may expect and what may be expected of us in our relationships with the patients. OH duty hours can be enjoyed on the grounds at the Lodge, swimming, playing tennis, soft- ball and other sports, in the Occupational Therapy shop or in all ,:.:,,x.:A,g Rockville, a small town which can easily be adopted for your own W home town.
